Apple Pie with Raisin Chutney

International Egg less Desserts Special 

Apple Pie with Raisin Chutney


For Filling: 
Mix of Washington Red Delicious & Granny Smith Apples (mix of Sweet & Tart Flavours)-
Butter- 100 Grams
Cinnamon 5-6 Grams or 1/3 Tbsp., Powdered
Sugar- 15-20 Grams

For Pie:
Flour- 100 Grams
Powdered Sugar-

For Raisin Chutney:

Star Anise-

For Filling:
Wash, Peel & Cut in Cubes
In a Pot, Melt Butter
Add Apples & Sweat these to get rid of the Moisture
Add Cinnamon, Sugar & Stir

For Pie:
In a Bowl, Mix Flour, Powdered Sugar, Butter & Mix with Hands (by the Process of 'Cutting Through') to get a Bread Crumbs Consistency
Add some Water to bring all the Dough together

Let the Dough covered in Plastic Wrap  rest for about 30 Minutes

Roll The Dough with some Flour, Lay it on a Round Pastry Tin, cut off the excess Dough
Prick in the Centre with Fork
the Pie Crust needs 'Prime Baking' at 180 Degrees C for 8-10 Minutes

Fill the Crust with the Apple Mixture
Let the Filling Cool for some time

For Raisin Chutney:
In a Pot, Add Cinnamon, Cloves, Star Anise, Raisins, Sugar, Lemon Juice, Orange Juice
Mix till we get a Chutney consistency

Roll the Top part of the Pie Crust & Cover the Filled Crust
Smoothen it cutting the Extra Edges out & Seal
Bake at 170-180 Degrees C for 35 Minutes

Dust with Sugar & Cinnamon Powder & Serve with Mango & Strawberry Puree with Raisin Chutney

Apples have Vitamin C, Fiber so we should make it a point to include them in our Diet!
Reduce Asthma, Cure Cancer, improve Bowel Movements, Lower Cholesterol etc.
